My Bit of History
NASCAR fan since four years old (came across the 2003 EA Sports 500 on NBC the first day I got a T.V. in my own room and was hooked). But never took any sort of deep dive into my fandom. That was until I came across Racing Reference around 2015, and fell in love with the concept. Didn't comment for two years, but would spend hours on the site looking at information and using it for my own personal projects. Finally started using the comment feature (for better or worse) sometime in 2017, and bounced around on there 'til it's demise in 2021, all under the name Danish Pie. Continued to try and contribute to that database after comments were removed through emails to the Webmaster and then different NASCAR email addresses before giving up in early 2024.
Had been aware of The Third Turn for a while before then and had used it to find many bits of information previously, but was daunted by the learning curve of adding information on one's own with not even a basic understanding of coding or know how. Fully shifted my focus to The Third Turn in February 2024, and have been slowly but surely learning the intricacies from then on, and very happy to have done so. Personally am thankful for The Third Turn, in fact, for getting me more interested in local racing along with regional touring series even when it comes to my own area. That is typically where you will see me doing my tidying and stat keeping now, at local tracks and races around New England.
