The original incarnation of the National Late Model Series was founded in 1992, and ran through 2015, followed by it not announcing schedules for 2016 and 2017 while remaining nominally 'active'. In the summer of 2017, the series name, IP and history were sold to the Southern Thunder Late Model Series, which had been founded in 2014 and ran similar cars to the 'original' NLMS; the STLMS then rebranded itself as the National Late Model Series as a continuation of the original NLMS. The Third Turn accordingly now considers the series' history merged, with the original NLMS and STLMS treated as "divisions" in 2014 and 2015 due to technical limitations. The Third Turn currently has results for 2009 to present in our database; we lack full field rundowns for some events in 2010, 2012, 2014 (original), 2017 and 2019.
