| In January 2023, The Third Turn backfilled the history of this event into our database. It evolved over the years though it was consistently held the day before the Knoxville Nationals and always as an invitational - first a simple 10-car race between the top Australian and American drivers competing at the Nationals, to a 16-20 car field with qualifying races held across the globe to lock into the event, and then in its latter years a more open race where any non-American driver and any American driver who competed in the winter in Australia and New Zealand, could attend and even earn the last starting position in the Knoxville Nationals. | |
