We consider the Dogwood 500 to have ended in 1984, primarily because by the end of the 1984 season the event was part of the national tour calendar and thus was no longer a major "stand-alone" event. Additionally in 1985, the event was changed from its traditional 250 lap-250 lap Late Model-Modified structure to a 200-200-100 affair with the addition of Late Model Stocks.
