STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
This race had a dramatic finish as Bob Senneker and Joe Nott's battle for the win ended with a wild crash across the finish line that almost saw Senneker flip over coming across the line. Senneker passed Nott, at the time still seeking a first ASA win, on the last lap but they came together off Turn 4 as Nott attempted to pass him back. Both cars lost it and pounded the inside wall with Senneker taking the win going backward over the finish line before turning up on the driver's side due to the impact then coming back down on all fours and riding atop the pit wall briefly. Both drivers were uninjured but their Ford Thunderbirds were a little worse for wear after this one.

Bryan Reffner came into this race needing to only finish 30th or better to win the ASA season championship and easily did so with this 14th-place run. Mike Eddy came in second in points and led early but a blown motor led to a last-place finish and ultimately doomed his long shot title bid, dropping him to fourth in points. Glenn Allen, Jr.'s top-5 and Senneker's win moved them past Eddy in the final standings.
